Description

Mary R. Stauffer Middle School is a student centered learning community recognized as an Apple Distinguished School and a California School to Watch within Downey Unified, a national District to Watch. A seven period block schedule gives students access to a broad range of electives, while AVID builds organization, collaboration, inquiry, and college readiness skills. More than 30 clubs, several Career Technical Education pathways, and over 25 sports teams help students explore interests, develop leadership, and strengthen connections with peers. Level Up time, i Ready practice, optional enrichment, and targeted academic support help learners make steady progress. As a Community School, Stauffer also connects students and families with health services, social support, and enrichment opportunities. Mary R.
