Description

Washington Intermediate School helps seventh and eighth grade students build a strong plan for college, career, academic excellence, leadership, and character. Students engage in English Language Arts, math, science, Social Studies, physical education, and electives through a seven period schedule with double blocked English Language Arts and weekly teacher Professional Learning Communities. The school offers AVID, leadership, yearbook, drama, broadcasting through T Bird TV, band, choir, Ag Discoveries, Career Exploration, Computer Science Discoveries, STEM Science, and robotics. Students connect through T Bird Leadership Camp, clubs, rallies, spirit days, athletics, California Junior Scholarship Federation, History Day, Math Super Bowl, and the MED Academy Club. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, restorative practices, the NEST, counseling, and T Bird Bucks strengthen a safe and supportive culture. Washington Intermediate is a spirited and caring community where every Thunderbird is encouraged to grow with confidence and purpose.
