Coalinga Middle School serves grades 6 through 8 with clear academic expectations in English language arts, math, science, and history, supported by progress reports during week five of each quarter and quarterly report cards. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports shapes daily culture through the SMART mentoring class that monitors grades, behavior, and attendance, teaches social emotional skills, and includes weekly character building and team building activities. Students earn Bobcat Bucks for positive choices and can spend them in the Student Store, and celebrations connect to schoolwide expectations like the Paw pledge. Academic recognition includes Principals Honor Roll at 4.0 GPA and Honor Roll at 3.0 to 3.99. After school, the free Expanded Learning Program runs Monday through Friday 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm with tutorial, snack, supper, and enrichment, plus tutoring, typing practice, iPads, printers, wifi, and free field trips tied to grades, participation, and behavior.
