Edythe Jones Hayes Middle School offers an academically ambitious and opportunity rich experience where students are encouraged to learn, lead, and grow. Guided by the Panther Promise to Learn Daily, Laugh Often, Lead Respectfully, and Live Responsibly, the school creates a culture that balances high expectations with meaningful support. A standout feature is the Academy Preparation Program, which helps students explore future high school pathways through a progression of career and academic experiences. Students can earn high school credit in courses such as Algebra I, Geometry, English I, Agriscience, Spanish I, and Spanish II, while also participating in electives including Flight and Space, drama, band, chorus, and gifted and talented programs. Academic enhancement periods, weekly reteach cycles, MAP data monitoring, and after school tutoring provide targeted support and help students take ownership of their learning. Through WEB, eighth grade leaders welcome and mentor sixth graders, fostering a strong sense of belonging and connection.
