St. Clare Walker Middle School delivers a steady academic day built on six classes with 68 minute core blocks and rotating exploratory arts that include art career and life readiness music appreciation and technology. Each morning begins with a 30 minute What I Need WIN block that uses SOL scores grades IEP goals and teacher input to place students in remediation intervention enrichment or clubs. Students who need targeted reading support can take Rewards to build multisyllabic word skills during WIN or an exploratory period. Connection and belonging are strengthened through Hawks Circles twice a month for goal setting teamwork and problem solving plus a wide range of WIN clubs such as Builders Club Hawks Happenings News Show Crew National Junior Honor Society Student Council STEM Club Stitch Club and Technology Student Association with Drama Club after school. Athletics include basketball golf co ed soccer and volleyball. Supports are strong with an ELL teacher providing push in and small group help plus grade level special education teachers and paraprofessionals with an inclusion first approach supported by TTAC coaching.
