Melva Davis Academy of Excellence

Melva Davis Academy of Excellence offers a structured seven period day that balances rigorous core classes with strong choice and support. Sixth grade is organized in core blocks with teachers cored in ELA and history or math and science so students build steady relationships while strengthening key skills. Students take ELA math science history physical education an elective and a support or enrichment class based on quarterly assessment results with fluid movement between reading math support and enrichment. Electives help students find their place and include band choir art drama Spanish French 1 coding graphic design digital photography yearbook ASB eSports MESA Project Lead the Way and a behavioral support elective called Why Try. A monthly PBIS team reviews Tier 1 Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports and students earn Titan Tokens to use at the Titan store while counselors build connections through minute meetings small group supports and Counselor Corner on Google Classroom. Athletics and clubs extend belonging through volleyball basketball cheer cross country track soccer and student led organizations.
