Description

Washington Academic Middle School serves seventh and eighth graders with a rigorous standards aligned program shaped by strong PLC collaboration, common formative assessments, and targeted Friday small group intervention with reteach, retakes, and enrichment. A signature practice of writing across the curriculum builds clear academic communication in every department, alongside science phenomena based learning and performance tasks that push higher depth of knowledge thinking. Students benefit from one to one iPads, seminar classes for English language arts and mathematics support, co teaching in core classes, and an after school homework lab. School culture is grounded in Warrior PRIDE expectations, PBIS, and the Second Step check in system, with layered supports including SAP counseling groups, SWAG student advocates, Restorative Justice, and on site All 4 Youth and Prodigy services. Career Day, Club Rush, electives like Engineering Robotics, Digital Media, Ceramics, Gardening, and Leadership, plus Minga Market rewards help students stay engaged and motivated. The campus feels organized, caring, and focused on growth for every learner.
