Description

Mountain View Middle School is a Schools to Watch campus built around strong academics, student connection, and timely support. Students take six core periods including ELA, math, science, social studies, PE, and an elective, with sixth graders cored for ELA and social studies or math and science to strengthen relationships and consistency. A signature feature is Encore, a four day advisory block that blends Character Strong lessons, targeted intervention and enrichment based on STAR, Panorama, and discipline data, and Friday college and career readiness using AVID strategies and digital citizenship. Electives offer depth and choice, from band, choir, ASB, yearbook, film and broadcast, speech and debate, medical arts, digital media, robotics, Seaperch, and design and modeling, with options to add a second elective through zero period PE. Students build belonging through WEB mentors, a three year House System, clubs and athletics, and a positive office referral tradition that celebrates effort and character. Families can expect a school that knows students well and helps them grow with purpose.
