John Muir Middle School creates a friendly and opportunity rich campus where students are known, supported, and encouraged to grow. Muir Time, WEB mentoring, and an active Associated Student Body help students build connection and belonging, while GATE classes, advanced math pathways, high school Spanish, and CTE pathways in engineering, media design, and culinary arts add challenge and choice. Students also benefit from award winning performing arts programs and academic supports including Student Success meetings, Academic Intervention, Making the Grade, and after school tutoring. Distinctive experiences such as the California State Middle School Chess title, a sister school partnership in Rebun, Japan, and schoolwide cultural experiences broaden student learning.
