Description
Rocky Point Middle School keeps learning focused and connected through a strong core that includes Humanities 6, where English language arts skills are integrated with ancient world history. Math pathways start with Math 6 and Math 6 Accelerated, leading to Math 7 Accelerated and Algebra I Honors with the Algebra I Regents Examination for students ready to move faster. Science courses build lab skills early in earth and space science, then shift to life science in grade 8. Students add hands on creativity in STEAM Skills, a project based course for designing, building, and testing solutions to real challenges, and Family and Consumer Science introduces practical life and career skills. Clubs bring energy after school through Robotics, Rookie Robotics using Lego Mindstorms, Coding Club, Jazz Club, Select Chorus, Journalism, and Yearbook. The overall feel is caring, purposeful, and proud of every students growth.
