South Junior High School is a vibrant Community School where equity, student voice, and innovation shape daily learning. Students build authentic skills through Game Design and Career Technical Education pathways, collaborating across subjects to design video games, build arcade cabinets, and apply coding, animation, and business strategy. Eagle Television gives students a powerful media platform that keeps the campus connected and informed. Student leadership is woven into the school through South Senate and South Talks, where learners lead discussions, share ideas, and influence decisions. Every eighth grader completes a Capstone project and ePortfolio focused on communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and compassion. Open intramural athletics, esports, visual and performing arts, California Democracy School recognition, and Green Ribbon recognition add depth and pride.
