Description
Edgewood Academy is a close knit school where strong academics, creativity, and student leadership come together to create an engaging middle grades experience. Students learn within a departmentalized block schedule and enjoy a variety of exploratory opportunities that help them discover new interests and talents. Electives and enrichment offerings include band, STEM, graphic art, journalism, esports, 3D printing, ukulele, and acoustic guitar, while Universal Access time provides targeted support and enrichment through English language development, math support, leadership, journalism, and advisement. Across classrooms, GLAD strategies and Thinking Maps help students build academic language, organize their thinking, and engage confidently with challenging content. Students also take on meaningful leadership roles through Kinder Buddies, the College Flag Parade, ASB activities, and schoolwide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports celebrations. The student produced Edgy News program offers authentic opportunities to write, conduct interviews, take photographs, and contribute to the yearbook. Edgewood Academy is a place where students are encouraged to explore their interests, develop their strengths, and grow as confident learners and leaders.
