John F. Kennedy Middle School builds a supportive, academically focused experience around a daily schedule that begins with a small Advisory community, followed by six 50 minute core classes. Advisory averages 18 to 19 students and anchors mentoring, Second Step social emotional learning, grade checks, and monthly assemblies that keep students connected to their advisor group all day. Academic programming is strengthened by AVID schoolwide, including AVID Excel for English learners and Long term English learners, with WICOR strategies embedded across classrooms and student planners and digital agendas supporting organization. Interventions include English Language Development using Amplify plus Imagine Learning, Math Support, Study Skills, and targeted reading and math programs like System 44, Read180, and Math180, alongside push in services and Adaptive Physical Education to support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. Students extend learning through MESA, world languages in Spanish, Visual Arts, Yearbook and Photography, band and orchestra, plus clubs like Circle of Friends, Spirit Club, and ASB Fun Fridays with PRIDE recognition. The culture is positive, structured, and focused on helping every student thrive.
