Plainedge Middle School supports grades 6 through 8 with a structured 9 period day that balances strong core classes with hands on electives. Literacy is taught with the Columbia University Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, while math pathways include Algebra and extensions, and science features Earth Science with lab. Students rotate through Technology Makerspace, art, music, health, and Family and Consumer Science, and expand communication skills in World Language plus STREAM options. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports anchors a clear schoolwide system for expectations and recognition. Beyond the classroom, students can join Robotics Club in the Makerspace, Science Bowl, Mathletes, Math Olympiads, Newspaper Club, Drama Club, Jazz Stage Band, Chamber Orchestra, Student Council, NJHS, and Tri M Honor Society.
