Description
Wendy Lopour Doty Middle School provides a rigorous and engaging middle level experience designed to prepare students for high school, college, careers, and responsible citizenship. Students explore Career Technical Education pathways, robotics, STEAM, visual and performing arts, athletics, Doty TV, and innovative electives such as Intro to Law. The school also offers a Wellness Center and programs that strengthen academic growth, student connection, and personal development. Doty has earned California and National Schools to Watch recognition and was named a 2026 California Distinguished School. The school is part of Downey Unified, where all four middle schools have earned Schools to Watch recognition, making Downey Unified a Schools to Watch District and demonstrating a shared commitment to excellence across the middle grades.
