Description

Altona Middle School prepares students for leadership and 21st century success through rigorous academics, advanced pathways, and hands on innovation. Students engage in High School Algebra and Geometry, advanced language arts, art, music, computer science, and robotics, with more than 25 percent of students taking beginning, intermediate, or advanced Computer Science. The IDEALab makerspace brings advanced technology tools into authentic learning across content areas, while the school also serves as a virtual reality pilot site and offers cybersecurity with a CyberPatriots club. More than 70 percent of students participate in choir, band, or orchestra, and many are selected for district and state honor programs. Leadership grows through River Watch, Critter Cam, philanthropic projects, Green Team, Community Garden, and Zero Waste practices. Altona is a lively, future focused school where students create, lead, and thrive.
