Description
Century Junior High School combines a strong middle school model with clear structures that keep students learning, connected, and supported across grades 6 through 8. Sixth graders begin with a 90 minute ELA block, while grades 7 and 8 follow a consistent 45 minute period schedule that includes foreign language, PE, exploratory rotations such as art, music, research, communications, health, and digital literacy, plus a daily advisory focused on SEL, goal setting, and executive functioning. A robust MTSS system adds Reading Plus and Math Plus with certified teachers and a math interventionist, while advanced learners can access honors courses and an eighth grade integrated math option that earns high school credit. Support services include inclusive special education with a district self contained program and an SEL resource room, plus co taught supports for English learners. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, a trusted adult mentoring system, and deep extracurricular participation anchor a welcoming culture where students thrive.
