Description

Cockrill Middle School serves grades 6 through 8 with a strong academic core and the distinction of being a Texas School to Watch. Students can step up with Advanced courses in English, math, science, and social studies, supported by teams that track progress and build study skills. Career and College Exploration in grade 7 helps students map goals using career clusters and practical job readiness tasks. In grade 8, Engineering Essentials PLTW introduces design thinking with GIS, 3D solid modeling, and prototyping, and Principles of Arts Audio Visual and Communications builds Adobe Creative Suite skills in multimedia, video, and graphic design. Fine arts thrive with band, choir, and orchestra, and athletics and student leadership groups add energy and pride. It is a place where hard work feels meaningful and students are known and encouraged.
