Description

Thomas Jefferson Middle School pairs rigorous core learning with a schedule intentionally built to support strong routines, smooth transitions, and whole child growth. Students take core classes in English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies in about fifty five minute blocks, with forty five minute encore periods staggered by grade level to reduce hallway congestion. Each day begins with Patriot Prime Time, a twenty minute homeroom block that rotates focused supports, Monday math work, Tuesday independent reading, Wednesday Wayfinder SEL, Thursday goal setting and code of conduct, and Friday community service and connection. Students can explore band, orchestra, chorus, visual arts, French or Spanish, and CTE courses like computer science discoveries, technology design and innovation, and business and entrepreneurship, with pathways to high school credit in Math 1, Math 2, and upper level world language. Study Skills classes support students with IEPs, and a combined MTSS and EC specialist strengthens targeted interventions and inclusion. Clubs like robotics, National Academic League, Girls Leadership and Mentoring, and League of Exceptional Gentlemen help students belong and lead with confidence.
