Description

Los Alisos Middle School is a STEM Magnet Schools to Watch campus where strong academics, bilingual pathways, and student belonging come together through a purposeful six period schedule. Sixth graders learn in a cored model for deeper relationships, while seventh and eighth graders move through departmentalized classes plus an elective, with options like AVID, video production, yearbook, and a wide menu of STEM electives including Engineering Essentials and Computer Science Essentials for high school credit. A Spanish Dual Immersion Pathway begins in sixth grade, with students taking two core classes in Spanish and building toward the Seal of Biliteracy, alongside a Spanish pathway that can lead to Spanish II or AP Spanish placement later. Student support is organized through a site intervention team, SST cycles, advisory groups, and counselors who run small groups on organization, executive functioning, coping skills, and college and career readiness. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports anchors culture through PRIDE values and Lobo Points, WEB leaders welcome incoming students, and clubs and athletics build Lobo Pride all year long. Families can feel confident their student will be challenged, known, and celebrated every day.
