Description
Marietta Sixth Grade Academy is a sixth grade only learning community built around strong teams, tight PLC collaboration, and a schedule designed for deep learning and steady support. Students learn in a six period day with hour long blocks four days a week, and a fifth day that builds in advisement for character education, International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme lessons, and test preparation, plus a midyear schedule flip that refreshes energy and engagement. Core classes run daily, with an A B rotation for world languages and PE, and reading and math remediation classes placed through MTSS plans and multiple data points including MAP Growth and Georgia Milestones. Multilingual learners receive sheltered or inclusive placement guided by WIDA ACCESS with tools like WELLS, Lexia, MindPlay, and Acadience, and growth has risen sharply since the sheltered model began. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Rewards reinforces Ready, Respectful, Responsible while celebrating IB learner traits. Families will find a focused, nurturing start to middle grades that helps students build confidence and momentum.
