Description

George Washington Middle School serves grades 6 through 8 with a structured day that balances core academics and encore courses. Students move through English language arts, math, science, and social studies, then learn through band, chorus, and instrumental ensembles including West Side Jazz, supported by a Library Media Center opened in 2012. Interdisciplinary teams and advisory periods strengthen organization and belonging. Chromebooks and digital research tools are used across classes for writing, labs, and presentations. The Guidance Department and Health Office provide counseling, check ins, and care that keep learning on track. Schoolwide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports reinforces respectful routines and clear anti bullying expectations. Community traditions such as Super Science Saturday showcase hands on investigation and student pride. Families can count on caring adults who help every learner thrive.
