Description

Sonora Middle School combines rigorous academics, personalized support, and engaging enrichment to help students grow as confident learners. Instruction includes CommonLit 360, O Dell Developing Core Literacy, close reading of complex texts, Illustrative Mathematics, OpenSciEd, Discovery Education, English Language Development, and Response to Intervention. Students extend their learning through EAST, robotics, advanced mathematics, Gifted and Talented services, Makerspace activities, Honor Choir, clubs, athletics, and the 21st Century Community Learning Centers after school program. Designated as a Model Professional Learning Community School in 2025, Sonora emphasizes educator collaboration, shared goals, and continuous improvement to address student needs. These academic and enrichment structures encourage creativity, problem solving, teamwork, and perseverance.
