Description
General Grant Middle School is a Schools to Watch campus focused on rigorous learning and strong student support through a trimester schedule and a seven period day. Students learn in a 90 minute ELA and social studies block and a 90 minute math block with built in math intervention or extension, plus daily science, PE, and electives. Tuesdays and Thursdays include a dedicated Grizzly Power Hour for targeted intervention or enrichment, and Wednesdays provide early release for staff collaboration and a schoolwide social and emotional learning lesson for all students. English learners receive designated ELD with the English 3D curriculum and academic discourse supports, and students grow through iReady progress monitoring and a clear RTI system. A Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports culture highlights the GRRR recognition system, Grizzly Celebrations, and restorative options like the Decisions program. Families can expect a steady blend of academic challenge, caring relationships, and meaningful student voice.
