Description

Serrano Intermediate School serves grades 7 and 8 with a clear focus on strong academics, student voice, and practical skills for the next level. AVID strategies are used school wide, with WICOR routines like Cornell Notes, Reading to Learn, and Costas Levels of Thinking built into daily learning so students can organize ideas and think deeply. Students can personalize their schedule through electives that include ASB, band, orchestra, and STEAM Village. STEAM Village blends science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics through trimester courses that connect to core classes and culminate in a major cross curricular project each trimester using design thinking and real world problem solving. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is supported by a dedicated committee that includes staff and PTSA partnership. Families can count on a caring team that keeps students challenged and supported every day.
